True image 2017 Bootable media able to backup/Restore Vista SP1

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have purchased Acronis True Image 2017 and have burned the iso for Update 4 (build 8053) to create bootable media. My question is will this bootable media be able to successfully backup a partition image to my external hard drive of Windows Vista SP1 and will it be able to successfully restore the image.

Advice Appreciated

Helter_Skelter, welcome to these user forums.

Yes, your Acronis Rescue Media for ATIH 2017 is fully capable of successfully backing up your Windows Vista partition and of restoring the same - when using the Rescue Media, the specific Windows OS version is mainly irrelevant as you are working fully outside of Windows.  The default Rescue Media for the .ISO image uses a Linux Kernel to launch the Acronis program environment.

The key point here is that you should test booting your computer from the Rescue Media and check that you can see all partitions on your drives in the computer, plus can see any connected external drives that you would use to store the backup on / recover the backup from.
