True Image 2017 interrupting Win 10 boot

Thread needs solution

Hi everybody,

I have uninstalled Acronis True Image 2016 from my Computer and installed/activated a full copy of Acronis True Image 2017 afterwards.

Now, on bootup, Windows 10 does no longer start by itself. Instead, a page from Acronis (2016!) appears right after the UEFI sequence, which had never been there before, showing me three items "Acronis True Image 2016", "Acronis System Report" and "Start Windows 10". This menu does not disappear until I select "Start Windows 10".

I have no clue which setting to change (in Windows? in Acronis?) to get rid of this screen. Tried editing settings in "msconfig > Start", which did not change anything.
Obviously I want to autostart Windows 10 when the PC boots. Since I thought it might have something to do with the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager, I enabled+disabled that one, but the Acronis Screen appears nevertheless.

Thanks for any advice on how to change this behaviour,
Andreas

Andreas, welcome to these user forums.

The only reason I can think of why you are see the Acronis True Image 2016 choices menu when you boot your computer would be if you have still got the Acronis bootable Rescue Media or an Install CD connected to the computer.

The menu you are seeing is typical of that shown when booting from such media.

Please eject any CD/DVD drives in the computer, and check for any USB devices that may be plugged in to any ports on the front, rear, top or via hubs etc.

Thanks!

You're an expert and I'm an idiot...
This CD actually survived in the slot, must've been months ago that I forgot it there, and now I was starting my PC again after a long break.

Embarrassing! Sorry :-)

Andreas, no worry, we've all done that at some time I am sure, I certainly have!
