True Image 2017 ruined True Image 2013

Hi,

I've purchased the 2017 verision to replace my former 2013. As it was a huge disappointment for me (nothing worked, several unknown error messages appeared), I decided to put back the 2013 version.

It seems, I wanted something big, because it was even a nightmare to remove the tishell.dll from the memory, it's impossible to reinstall the 2013 version.

During the installation there was a message, "syncagentsrv.exe: 004d5587", but the installer said, it's OK. So I tried to start it, but now I receive this message all the time:

"trueimage.exe  AppVer: 16.0.0.6514 ModName: msvcr80.dll ModVer: 8.0.50727.6195     Offset: 000046b4"

And my legal, and formerly working 2013 is not working at all.

Well, of course, I removed the 2017 version completly. Did the sfc /scannow, did the install/reinstall/revo uninstall, all the cleanuptools from Acronis site, everything, but the problem still persists.

Of course, I understand that the 2013 version has no support, but this is definitely a 2017 problem, as this version messed up my system.

By the above, please give me a solution to completly restore my previous stage to let me allow to use the 2013 version. Just for fun, of course I have the saved partitions in the True Image format, but as I'm not able to access them, so I feel a little bit of messed up now.

Thanks in advance.

FNH, welcome to these User Forums.

Do you have a backup of your computer created when ATIH 2013 was installed that you can use to restore it back to that point in time?

If you have run the Acronis Cleanup Tool (as Administrator) and you still have any remnants of ATIH 2017 present, then all I can suggest in booting into Safe Mode and running the Cleanup Tool again.

You can also review topic: [How to] uninstall a previous installation for additional steps in removing the product software.

Thank you, now everything worked fine :)

I removed all traces of Acronis from the registry and all the related files, all C++ installations, after this start the uninstaller in safe mode, disabled NOD32 temporary, and WOW, now I was able to install 2013.

Thank you for your kind help, case closed :)

Glad to hear all is well again, thanks for the feedback.
