True Image Backup Behaviour Change after System Disk Move

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

A couple of months ago, I copied my system disk from one device to a new larger device. Prior to this change, True Image was running weekly in incremental mode with a full backup occurring monthly. After the hardware change, the weekly backups are incremental but no full backup is occurring. The incremental file sizes are 6-10 times the previous incremental file sizes. I have no reason for that discrepancy as of now. When I tried to test by using  'Search Files', an error message popup reads: 'Cannot find version 6'. You may have moved or deleted it...'

I seem to have neglected paying attention to True Image config at the time of the move. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike, welcome to these public User Forums.

Whenever you change a drive that is being backed up, you need to reselect the new drive in your backup tasks as the drive unique identifier will have changed.

Any errors suggesting that some versions of backup files cannot be found is usually caused by such files being deleted outside of using the options provided within the True Image application such as using automatic cleanup.  If you delete files using Explorer, then it leaves behind references to those files in the database used by True Image, which then gives these errors!

The best suggestion is to create a new backup task and start over.
