UK Upgrade options.

Thread needs solution

I have just received a promotional email from Acronis offering a choice of 3 upgrade options for me to move to the ATI 2017 platform. I am puzzled by the first 2 options:

Option 1. 1-PC Licence, another one free, £54.98 for two, £19.99

Option 2. 3-PC Licence, for the price of 1, £39.99 for three, £19.99

As the price to me is the same for both options, what is the difference?

Option 1 gives me two licensces, but must have something option 2 does not because it's base price is higher. Can anybody help?

I have phoned Acronis, but the agent didn't inderstand what I was talking about, so maybe somebody on the forum has more information.

Thanks

Fumbledore, welcome to these user forums.

Basically the difference is whether you want to pay £19.99 for 2 licenses or pay the same and get 3 licenses.  The real question here is how many licenses do you need / can you use?  Personally I would go for the 3-PC licence which essentially is buy one get 2 free.  The product is exactly the same if you are buying a perpetual license, not just paying for a one year subscription.

Agreed, but guess they are wanting to try to attract more customers and you might get the extra license to use for a member of the family, relative etc?

You can't use an upgrade to get 3 licenses (edit - if you don't have a license to upgrade in the first place). You would have to buy one and get one free. For being a previous customer with upgrade potential, you'd get that 1 extra license for the same price as a new customer who could only take advantage for 2 new licenses.

Sure thing ;)

The marketing people have it all figured out - I'm sure.
