Unable To Backup to a Blue Ray disk
Version 2017, Build 5554: Same problem. No error codes. I was able to copy my files over to the BD-R via Ashampoo Burning Studio, so I know the hardware is okay.

PS I cross posted this in the 2014 forums. I am posting here so it is in the current 2017 forums.

I know this doesn't resolve your exact issue, but something to consider for performance, reliability and redundancy. May I suggest not using CD/DVD/Blu-ray as the backup destination? If possible, use a faster, more reliable media like a USB 3.0 external hard drive (1TB is roughly $52 on Amazon). You can always then burn copies of your backups from the hard drive to Blu-ray if desired and that would give redundancy as well.
As for the actual burn problem, I suspect (although am only guessing) that you may have cached files waiting to be burned - either existing ones, or something happened in the burn process that put them in cache, but never got completed to the burn process.
If it happens again, check to see if there are files waiting to be burned in:
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Burn

FtrPilot, yes it does show up as a backup destination, and Achronis let's me select it. I have an active subscribtion with Acronis. :) I always try the forums first, for that, "Oh yeah, I had that here is how you fix it," answer.
Bobbo_3C0X1, I have three, or four, external drives. I fill an external 3TB drive when I back up my whole conmputer. It goes into my safe deposit box.
The reason for the BlueRay is to be able to copy my data to a disk and drop it off in my safe deposit box. The disk are more cost effective than the USB drives.
I didn't find any cache files. But I'll check that the next time I try to backup to the Blue Ray Disk.
Thank you.

Julian,
My guess is that you can create a backup task, with the Blu-Ray as the destination, but when you hit "Back up now" nothing happens. Or do you get a "Calculating time remaining" message, but the computer freezes? Recommend you download the Log File Viewer:
https://forum.acronis.com/forum/115626
The service logs may show what's going on.
Also...storing backups off-site in a safe deposit box is a great idea...I wish more people did...well done.

Same result. I also checked to make sure there were no files. Threre were none.
I also download the Log Viewer. I'm attaching the result.
Thank you for the help.

Hi Julian,
I'm not sure what you mean when you say that you checked to make sure there were no files and there were none... which files are you referencing and where were you checking?
Might need a few of the service logs - this one just says: Error occurred while opening the file, but doesn't really say what file is the issue.

Could you try creating a new backup task/job with a unique name but selecting the same files and try again with the new task too?
