Upgrade from TI2013, reconfigure previous backups
I've just upgraded from True Image 2013. In TI2013 I of course already had a setup of backups configured, and I would like to continue using these backup configurations. However, I don't seem to be able to do this. Only the previous backup destination folder and the individual full backup files are presented in the backup list, and if I try to reconfigure one of these, the Backup source dialog has no sources selected from my TI2013.
How can I 'recover' a backup configuration with the sources as I had defined them in TI2013?

Thommy, if everything is working for you, then it's your choice how you want to handle it. But, my preference would be entirely uninstall and cleanup, following the instructions here:
https://forum.acronis.com/forum/acronis-true-image-2017-forum/how-uninstall-previous-installation
After that, I would install the new version of Acronis True Image and create new backup tasks.

My preference would be to do as tuttle suggest. This will not delete the backup files themselves (*.tib); when you reinstall ATI 2017 it should find all the backups. However, I would suggest recreating the tasks as the task settings probably will not be recreated as you would like.

In reply to Thommy, if you have a backup… by truwrikodrorow…

Many thanks Steve. In deed, I do still have those files in at least one backup file.
I only discovered that I cannot update from TI2013 to TI2017 when I ran the TI2017 setup file to update. As soon as I clicked on the 'Update' button, a pop-up to select a folder opened, but did not describe what I should be selecting. So I started searching and found a post in the forum saying that I should not update to TI2017 from TI2013. That was a surprise. Most SW will tell you such things. That is a bit disappointing.
In fact, I have been on Windows 10 with TI2013 since over a year now and didn't even realize that TI2013 is not supported, because at the time I switched to W10, there was no information I could find stating this.
I uninstalled TI2013 as per the user's guide. I did not look for further instructions than the UG for, to me at least, obvious reasons.
Once again, many thanks.

Hi Tuttle, thanks for your reply.
I did a normal uninstall of TI2013, because that is what the User's Guide instructed. After that I did a normal install.
Directly after installing TI2017 almost everything looked okay, I guess. It's kind of hard to tell, if you don't know exactly what to expect.
I previously had 5 backups defined. 4 were for normal backups, which ran weekly on a schedule, and one was a special backup I set up to backup a disk which I had not included in the other backups (PEBCAK), and which was failing. It only ran manually, and never successfully, so no backup file ever existed from this backup.
Of the 4 scheduled backups, one is a system disk backup of the Windows 10 installation, and the other 3 are file backups of 3 other data disks.
All the full backup chains are listed in the TI2017 backup list.
The 2 system disk backups are both listed with a tape cartridge icon, but from the 3 data disk backups, the older backup chains also have the tape cartridge icon, but the newest backup chains have a folder icon.
I have no idea if that actually means anything.
All of them appear to be accessible for recover, but if I select any the one file back I would like to reconfigure to maintain the list of backup sources, and click on the 'Reconfigure' button, the backup source list is unpopulated, and this is what I really needed. The other backups are easy to reconfigure from scratch.
Many thanks again.
