Upgrading from TI 2014 to TI 2017

Thread needs solution

I'm currently running TI 2014 with 250Gb of cloud backup and Nonstop backup.

If I ugrade to 2017 will the new software automatically pickup my cloud backup and nonstop option and carry on using the existing data files?

TIA

Peter, the recommendation in the Acronis True Image 2017 FAQ document (see Useful Links on left side of forum), is to uninstall your 2014 version before installing 2017:

FAQ wrote:
If you already have Acronis True Image 2014 or older versions, you need to delete these first and then install Acronis True Image 2017.

I would suggest that you save a copy of the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts folder which holds all your backup task configuration information (in .TIS files) and restore these files back after doing the uninstall / install for 2017.

The Cloud backup should be fine and be picked up when you sign-in to 2017 with your Acronis account credentials, but I would expect that you may need to reconfirm the NSB task configuration to ensure that any schedule details are correct.

Steve, would it not also be a good idea to run the Acronis Cleanup tool? If there are problems with the 2017 installation, first try doing a repair installation - just run the installer again and select repair. If that does not fix the problem unistall ATI 2017 and run the cleanup utility. There is a link to the cleanup utility in Steve's signature.

Ian, that is certainly an option if the OP wishes to have a clean start with ATIH 2017 but there was no mention of any current issues with his use of ATIH 2014 and he wanted to continue with his Cloud and NSB backup tasks which would be removed by the Cleanup Tool.
