Using the Single Version Backup Scheme
I use the single version backup scheme of ATI 2017 to backup many wildlife photos and videos contained on one external drive (L) to another external drive (I). Since ATI won't delete the old image until the new image backup has been completed, I am quickly running out of space on drive I when performing my backup.
Does the option exist for me to have the old image deleted before the new image creation starts? I know this is a little risky, but my drive real-estate is getting scarce.
Or given my issue, is there a better solution? I've never used differential backups.....is that one possibility? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Enchantech. I figured that was the case. You always give me good, solid advice and I appreciate that.

Durago, an alternative solution for this situation would be to use file/folder synchronisation software to keep your L: and I: external drives synchronised without using Acronis for this task.
The key difference is that you would be copying files & folders and will have exactly the same content on both drives without using the Acronis .TIB container files.
Given that you say the contents of the L: are photos and videos, then there is unlikely to be any great compression gain from using Acronis as both these files types are normally already highly compressed / optimised.

Thanks, Steve. I actually use Microsoft's SyncToy to backup my photo/video data from external drive L to another external drive K. These photos/videos are very valuable to me, so I use several backup methods, e.g., Acronis, Macrium, and SyncToy.....all going to different external drives. I'm a firm believer in backups, perhaps to the point of 'overkill'.
Acronis is the only backup method that requires double the space to initially get the job done, so I was hoping there might be a way to avoid this. I still want to use Acronis, so I will either get a larger drive or, most likely, remove other stuff from my drive I to ensure enough room for Acronis to do its magic.
