Validation Successful But Not Shown in ATI User Interface

Thread needs solution

I run two ATI2017 backup jobs: one is a "files and folders" backup of my iTunes music files and the other is "disks and partitions" backup of selected partitions. Both jobs are configured to validate the backup upon creation.

The "files and folders" backup does the validate operation and shows a green check mark, both in the list of backups and between the "source" and "destination" boxes on the main part of the ATI backup screen. The "disks and partitions" job completes successfully but does not show the green check in either location.

I looked in the log file and although the XML is a bit garbled in places, the validation does seem to have happened successfully. See events 14, 15, and 16 in the attached log file.

Why doesn't the user interface show that validation has been successful for "disks and partitions"?

Backup looks good to me. Perhaps try validating seperately outside of the backup job to see if that sets it green

also, you can grab FTRPilot's logviewer to help making reading the logs more pleasant. You can grab the latest 2.2 at the bottom of the sticky: https://forum.acronis.com/forum/115626

Thanks for the suggestions.

When I ran a stand-alone validation operation, the UI did in fact display the green check.

I found FTRPilot's logviewer shortly after I posted earlier.  I had been using XML Notepad, which for some reason didn't render all of the log file XML info correctly.  FTRPilot's app does a very nice job.

Good deal.  I've read a few other posts with "weirdness" when validation is tied to the backup job itself.  In most cases, running the manual validation resolves the issues.   FTRPilot's logviewer is very nice.  Hopefully we see a proper log viewer in the app not too far down the road, but I'm good using this one until that happens - it's pretty slick.

Pete, I have searched the list of known issues with validation. As of now we don't have a ticket abot the behavior that you have described. Could you please take a screenshot illustrating the missing green box after the validation and send it to us via "Send feedback" option? Please keep the checkbox "Attach system report" marked so that we will also receive additional diagnostic information about Acronis True Image 2017 running on your computer.

Slava
