Where are all the features in True Image 2017 for Mac?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

after using True Image 2014 on my Windows PC for many years, I have just purchased three licences of True Image 2017. I have installed the new version both on my Windows PC and my iMac.

While could easily find all features in the new Windows version, the Mac OS X version seems to lack all important features... After starting the OS X version I can add a new Backup:

  • Choose a name
  • Select wheter the backup should be encrypted or not
  • Choose a destination
  • Choose a backup plan (e.g. every day)
  • Set some rules to exlude files and to auto revove old backups

That's it!

Where are all the other features?

  • Non Stop Backup
  • Select wether to perform a full, incremental, differential, etc. backup
  • Add a note to the backup or specify the backup filename
  • Send notifcations when backup is complete or free space is needed
  • Validate the backup
  • Split the backup into different files
  • Run cammands before after the backup
  • Shut down the system when backup is complete
  • Set backup priority
  • etc.

Without these features "Acronis True Image 2017 for Mac" would be little more than an ordinary ZIP-Tool. So please let me know where to find all these features in the Mac version.

Thanks
Stefan

Hello Stefan,

The feature set in both editions is different due to absolutely different environments. Here you can find the feature-wise comparison.

I'd encourage you to send a direct feedback on this via Feedback form, so it will be registered in our intenal system.

Thank you,

Hi Ekaterina!

I understand, that Windows and Mac OS are two different platforms with different features. I would understand if True Image for OS X would lack some features that are close to the system, e.g. Block level Backup, etc.

But setting a backup comment? Backup validation? Backup priority? These are no function that are not possible under OS X. Without these features the OS X version is just a crippled, cheap copy of the Windows version... This is as if Outlook for OS X would lack the possibilty to set a mail subject... Redicolous!
