Why does Acronis not find my backup file, although it exists?
Lately I tried to recover a missing file from my latest Acronis Backup. I tried to do so from the windows surface. But it failed cause Acronis said it could not find version 1 of the backup. But version1 is there, really! I showed Acronis the path to the backup, but again it said that it could not find version 1. So I rebooted my computer with the help of my Acronis Rescue Disk and from there I could recover the missing file. So my question is: Why does Acronis not find my backup file, although it exists?
Thanks for your help!

Klaus, as Ian has stated above, this is an issue with the Acronis Database files being out of step with your backup files and looking for files incorrectly.
Your options are to do as you have already done and use the offline Rescue Media which doesn't use the Database information, or else to try to reconcile the database by doing a Valdiation for the task that created the backup files.
If you still see a problem, then the best way forward is to force ATIH to rebuild the Database files by first stopping all Acronis Services and Processes, then either renaming or removing the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database folder, i.e. rename to Database.OLD or delete this folder.
Acronis will rebuild the Database when you relaunch the ATIH application.
