Why it's recommended to boot from Acronis boot disc ONLY?
I've read in many places that the BEST way to backup is by booting from an Acronis boot disc (instead of from a running Acronis on your machine)
Why is this?
I uninstalled Acronis from my machine - it kept on running in the background - no matter what I did, it kept popping up and sucking resources.
If it's best advice to boot from Acronis boot disc... then no need to have latest Acronis?
Thanks.

So now the recommendation for the most reliable full disk image with TI 2017 is to run from within Windows 10 instead of from a boot CD?

Dave, if you read my original post that you took my words from, you will see the context was dealing with the changes made in later version of ATI, not making a recommendation for the most reliable full disk image method!
I personally have never had any issues with the reliability of backups created by the Windows ATI application but if you want to fully ensure that there is no interference from any installed security software or if you have a potential malware risk, then making a backup using the bootable rescue media would be more prudent to do.
