Why UAC pops up at startup ?

Thread needs solution

Why TrueImageLauncher.exe pops up UAC?

In am with Win10 pro 1709, I am local admin. (no domain)

TI2017 doesn't need UAC IMHO.

There are many services in background that actually do operations.

UAC for the "frontend"? why?

thanks

A question in return here?  How was ATI 2017 installed on your computer?

ATI should always be installed either from an Admin account or using Administrator privileges in order to set the correct authorities / permissions.  ATI needs this level of authority to work at the low level it uses in the OS.

I installed it.

I am administrator. Even if I am administrator, UAC pops upon launching the program (the GUI)

IMHO it's more rational to ask UAC permission when *actually* needed, like performing low-level things, etc... Definitely not for just opening the GUI (which is a frontend GUI, doesn't change nothing on the system *yet*).

Unfortunately this is a Windows issue rather than an Acronis one.

Microsoft gives the following description of User Account Control:

User Account Control (UAC) helps prevent malware from damaging a PC and helps organizations deploy a better-managed desktop. With UAC, apps and tasks always run in the security context of a non-administrator account, unless an administrator specifically authorizes administrator-level access to the system.

So the next question is how to specifically authorise administrator-level access for ATI? - please see webpage: Always run a program in administrator mode in Windows 10 which shows how to do this.
