Win PE recovery media - clone fails (saying it is just a trial version)

Thread needs solution

Using TI 2017 with an UEFI-board, I had to create a Windows PE recovery media, because TI 2017 doesn't fully support my hardware*.
Neither the installed programm nor the regular linux based standard recovery media does (re)boot properly at all.

Trying to use the PE media (offered as an alternative to the standard media) to clone the HDD for my second (identical) HTPC TI 2017 refuses to do the job, producing a message that it is just a trial version and the clone-function is therefore not available.

Using TI for many years now, this is a total no go for me - is there any easy workaround for the windows PE rescue media?
(except from any solution using a third PC with compatible hardware)

TNX & regards

Markus, redownload the full installer. Run it by right clicking and run as administrator - even if logged in as admin already. Do a repair install and reboot. After that, rebuild the media. It seems like the activation is not occurring for some reason to inject the license from your system into the WinPE so hopefully that will get that back on track.

If possible, before recreating, log outlet of the app and log back in again to make sure it still shows its registered and activated too.

I'd also recommend using the MVP WinPE tool 9.6 linked below. You'll get some nice custom WinPE with IRST driver support built in directly (automatically)  when you add the custom drivers in the build process.

not sure what adk you installed already either, but recommend the win 10. 1511 version (although 1607 is ok too).
