Win10 UEFI Backup with disk, Backup Successful ... Target partition empty
A. I am using a TI 2021 boot disk on a Dell Inspiron 5552, Windows 10 fresh install, 64 bit, and UEFI. I created a 100gb partition using Windows Disk Management and named it "Acronis". I Booted with the TI disk with no issues. I chose 64bit mode. I chose "Disk Partition and Backup" and chose the default selected partitions, C:, EFI, and (Windows) Recovery Partition. I targeted D: (the partition named "Acronis") and started backup.
B. TI processes as usual (about 10 minutes). A tibx is created in D: and can be seen using the Acronis GUI. When rebooted to Windows, The partition is declared "empty". When rebooted using TI boot disk, the tibx that WAS visible after the backup process is now gone.
C. In other attempts, I have successfully created a tibx in an external drive but when the TI Recovery mode is chosen and recovery is "successful", Windows refuses to boot or repair itself and must be re-installed from scratch.
My goal with this thread is to create an operational backup and recovery file and to help others who may be having the same issues. Thanks in advance...
