Is it possible toi recover items from a Windows 7 Backup image, and transfer the info to Windows 10?

Yes, as long as it is user data not application data.  You can open a backup image using the installed Windows application by selecting Recover Files and Folders and navaigate to the desired file.  You will have the option to recover to a different location then the original so that you can direct the recovery where you want it.  You can use Windows File Explorer to open a backup image and copy/paste the file to a desired location.  You can use the Recovery media in the same/similar fashion.

I ended up reformatting my drives and then installing Windows 10. Everything went well and I was able to install Acronis True Image 2017. I then did a full system restore from my Acronis backup from my external hard drive instead of just recovering the files and folders. What it then did, was restore the computer back to Windows 7 the way it was before I had all the problems! It's all good though since the computer is back to normal! Luckilly, I did not pay for the Windows 10 upgrade, so nothing lost or gained!!  Thank you Acronis.

Neal, if your Windows 7 computer was activated after upgrading to Windows 10, then you can upgrade again if you want to do so, as Windows 10 uses your hardware signature to verify the activation.
