WINPE-Based Media with Acronis Plugin

Thread needs solution

I purchased 5 copies of ATI 2017 for my home machines, and attempted to make a backup of my LG NAS, and could not get the system to recognize the NAS as a source.  After searching the forum and the user's guide, I started a lengthy Chat discussion with tech support, most of which had me waiting for the tech to respond.  That yielded no solutions, so I opted to back up other files and folders on my machine and look for another product to backup my NAS.

After backing up the local files and folders, the user guide suggested that I make a backup and recovery disk.  I followed the instructions to the Rescue Media Builder, which recommended that I make a WINPE-Based Media with Acronis Plugin.  I took the advice and it took me to a screen claiming that I need Windows AIK or ADK, and offered a link.  Unfortunately, the Link does not work, so I searched the Web and eventually found a win 10 version on the MS website.

The Recue Builder does not allow me to do anything except go back or try again, so with the ADK on my hard drive, I start over hoping that it will recognize it and allow me to continue.  it does not.

I search the forum hoping to find what to do next and locate an ATI 2015 thread that suggests I log in to my acct and download the " Acronis free Plug-in".   I log in and find that the free plugin does not exist, nor does the location on the Acronis sight. So back to the use users guide, which tells me to install the ADK.  I launch the "ADKsetup" file, which expands the ADK files to a folder, and appears to install.  I run the Rescue builder again, but again it does not recognize the ADK.  The user guide tells me to go to START/WINDOWS KITS/WINDOWS ADK.  Of course that does not exist under START, so I went into the ADk subfolder hoping to find another SETUP file in teh subfolder that will take me a little farther.  I find dozens of MSI and Executables, none of which give any indication of what I need to do to install the ADk in order to make the rescue disc.

Any Suggestions would be appreciated, but with the unresponsive chat help, inability to backup my NAS and poor instructions/links, etc., I am think of requesting a refund and going with another product.

Thanx in advance,

DCE

I'm not sure which adk you installed. Grab the win 19 adk from my links below and install that. Make sure to run all installers with right click and "run as administrator". Then reboot to finish applying changes to the registry. Then grab our MVP WinPE tool(also linked below) and run it with right click and run as administrator and build your WinPE.

fyi, you will need to use a net start command to map a network NAS share as a drive letter to access it in WinPE as well. The advanced version of the WinPE has a43 explorer in it and has a map network drive option that can do it in the app. Build the WinPE first...
