Just received 2017 version in sealed box. Activated product. When trying create 1st system image backup window shows computer on left and destination drive on right, when I click on "begin backup" check mark in center immediately blinks once. When curser place over check mark message says "backup completed successfully". BUT THERE IS NO BACKUP. Have tried switching destinations no difference. VERY frustrated at this point, brand new desktop Windows 11 Home computer, brand new Acronis True Image 2017.

Account says "up to date" (it's build 8058)
Brand new computer, I haven't created any user accounts yet so I'm believe I'm an administrator account.
Backup from within Windows works perfectly, the problem presents itself when I try to make a system image from the "Bootable Rescue Media" System Drive C:" isn't on the list of drives (only my external SSD backup drive is listed).
However if I check Restore, then the "System Drive C:" shows up so it does see the system in that case.
There is only one internal drive, the system SSD drive. 1TB M.2 2280 SN530 PCIe Gen3x4 value
Thanks for responding Andy

Andy, how are you creating the rescue media / what type of rescue media are you using?
In essence there are three potential types of rescue media.
Linux based - which is how earlier versions of Acronis created media either directly or by burning an ISO image to optical media.
Windows PE - which uses one of two sources for the PE files.
For ATI 2018 & later, the Acronis media builder offers a 'Simple' option which takes the PE files from the Windows Recovery Environment - this option doesn't exist for ATI 2017. So for this version users normally need to download the Windows ADK & PE Kits.
See KB 58816: Acronis True Image 2017: Creating Acronis Bootable Media - and KB 59184: Acronis True Image 2017: How to create a WinPE-based bootable media for more information on creating the media.
One option that you can use with ATI 2017 to create PE media from WinRE is by using the older MVP Custom PE Builder tool which offers this option.
From your description of the issue, then there is a possibility that your new HP Envy PC might be using Intel VMD RST (RAID) drivers for the NVMe M.2 SSD to give best performance, and thus these drivers will need to be injected into the Windows PE / RE rescue media for that drive to be recognised correctly.
See forum topic: Inaccessible boot media - where there is a long discussion ref Intel VMD driver injection.
