2018 settings defaulted

Thread needs solution

Hi 2018 users check your settings. I have two, maybe three customers using TIH 2018 who've lost the most of the backup settings in the program. Was there an update or similar pushed this week? It seems backups are still running, but the scheme, notifications and advanced settings have all defaulted. One instance doesn't raise any concerns, but three users all this week probably should.

This is a widespread issue which Acronis is investigating - it happens with ATI 2020, 2019 and 2018. It is discussed in this thread which contains a workaround.

Thank you. I wasn't aware it affected newer versions as well. Just seemed strange that 3 customers, all with 2018 had the exact problem all this week!

Richard, this issue has affected users with all ATI versions from 2017 to 2020 and the core culprit looks to be having the Acronis Managed Machine Mini Service enabled / started which has distributed a reset of all current backup tasks to hundreds, if not thousands of systems!

Stopping and setting the service to disabled start will help prevent any further resets of task settings until such time as Acronis fix the core server issue on the Dashboard servers (and stop saying they will provide a fix for ATI 2020 users in the application unless that fix is to prevent such cloud server resets from being accepted in the future!).

This happened to me on two Win10 systems. I disabled the service, reset my backup settings, ran a backup. On checking the settings after the backup they were again incorrect.

Mark, did you restart the computer after disabling the service?
