Ability to edit the destination url for existing backups
Hi
I've had the same folder setup for a long time for each of a number of backups I perform over the course of a week.
Recently I've change my broadband plan and that location by necessity needs to be updated to reflect the now slightly different URL e.g. the url needs to be changed from \\192.xxx.x.x\blah\blah to \\192.xxx.x.y\blah\blah.
I cant seem to find an easy way to alter this on the existing backup settings which seemingly only allow the alteration of the login credentials.
Instead of having to delete all existing backup jobs and the dramas that might be associated with that, then having to create a number of new ones, is there an easier way to just alter the existing backup destination location?
Cheers
J

Justin, welcome to these public User Forums.
There are several options that you could try for this issue.
Use the Clone settings option for your backup task, which will create a duplicate of the task using the same name prefixed by (1) then set the new Destination in that new task.
Edit the local HOSTS file and put in a redirect for the new Destination as the target for the old one.
The third option is to clear out the stored network credentials for the current task destination, then edit the task to set the new Destination and provide new credentials to match.
See KB 58004: Acronis True Image 2016: Troubleshooting Issues Related to NAS Credentials - which is still relevant for later versions of ATI. This will show you how to remove the old credentials from the Windows Registry. Note: make a backup of the Registry before making changes!
