Acronis 2018, will not recover files
Hi, I have been using Acronis 2018 on my new computer for about 1 year, it is set up to backup on shut down of the pc to my NAS.
last week, I think because of a Windows update failure I had to recover the whole pc, losing my apps on the process. Upon recovery of Windows (fresh start) I want to use Acronis recovery to recover user/appdata/roaming/cura/5.1/ quality-changes
I can find the folder on Acronis containing the files I need.
i can select recovery and a few seconds later Acronis reports recovery with errors (no clue to what the error was/is)
It is evident the file has not been recovered
if I recover to a desktop folder location, same result.
I’m very disappointed in Acronis, this is the first time I really need it , after diligently backing up for a year.
Any suggestion for a fix?
Steve

Steve, you are most likely hitting an issue with locked files and system permissions because you are attempting to recover from within Windows to user/appdata/roaming/cura/5.1/ quality-changes
I would suggest booting your system from Acronis rescue media and trying the restore from there, outside of active Windows.

Steve, thanks for the reply. Whilst I can navigate to my NAS and select the .tib file Acronis asks me to authenticate the device by entering the user name and password. I did this and tested the connection with a "successful connection". However as soon as I try to select the individual file or complete the recovery the same message appears asking me to authenticate the device. It dose not matter haw many times I enter user name and password it will not let me proceed.
Any suggestions to what I should do?

Steve, are you trying this booted from the Acronis rescue media?
Are you trying to recover to the original folder - if yes, have you tried to a totally different folder (not within the user/appdata/roaming path)?
Have you tried selecting the parent folder to recover rather than an individual file?
