Acronis for Mac - very poor performance

Thread needs solution

It looks like Acronis doesn't properly utilize all resources available in the system.

142GB Backup took about 33 minutes to complete

During this time Backup drive was mostly utilized at 40% of it's write speed capacity (around 80MB/s instead of 232MB/s that disk can save during big file write).

At first, I thought that calculating backup difference takes a lot of resources but source disk & CPU are bearly utilized. It looks like that you perform a lot of small writes instead of creating proper data in ram and write it in the bigger chunk(s).

Source of this backup is SSD drive capable of reading over 2500-3000MB/s, so it's not a bootlick (even with 4Kb test it will be faster than target HDD).

CPU utilized 13-18% (plenty resources left)

RAM utilized 30-35% (plenty resources left)

Time comparison (142GB Backup)

Summary: Acronis backup time: 33min

Copy this backup file to the drive: 10min

Panel, sorry but this forum focusses mainly on the ATI 2018 for Windows product which is the product that I myself use so I am not able to comment on the performance of the ATI 2018 for Mac product, though your backup time does not seem unreasonable to me?

You could post about this question in the dedicated Acronis True Image for Mac Forum where other Mac users could give their views on the performance of this application.
