Acronis Mobile - Smartphone Access Password
I have installed TI 2018 on PC and Mobile on my smartphone.
I have configured the moblie app so that the target is on my local PC, furthermore continuous backup und connections by Wifi only.
In Desktop TI I have chosen my smartphone and scanned the QR Code.
When I start the backup on smartphone, my smartphone's name appears and I'm asked to enter a password.
I have no idea which password this should be, nor is this described in the manual.
It is not my PIN asked for when starting my smartphone.
I would strongly recommend Acronis to offer the chance to restore a password via Mail/SMS service, in case this has nothing to do with the smartphone.
I hope someone can give me a hint. Thanks in advance.
Regards

Hi Steve,
The speed of your reply was really great.
Not the speed only. I don't know why the mobile app tried to access Acronis Cloud although I had directed the target to a local folder and had scanned the QR-Code from there.
Now I tried another time and everything goes well.
Thanks and best regards
Horst

I am sorry. It's not going well.
After 79% an undocumented error happens.
I waited for more than a minute but I can't go on again.

Horst, thanks for the updates though not good that the backup did not succeed. My personal opinion is that the Acronis Mobile app is still in need of improvement to make it more stable, plus depending on which type of mobile you have (IOS or Android) is quite limited in terms of what can be backed up!
I have had limited success myself in using the Acronis Mobile app on my Samsung Android phone and had better luck when backing up to the Acronis Cloud but the app kept telling it had found 5 changes in photos over and over. I did manage to get a backup to my computer using the app 2 days ago but had to reset my wi-fi boxes to get the mobile to connect to my computer after getting a similar failure to your one at 79% (but at an earlier percentage).

Your reply of course is somewhat frustrating. I am using a Huawei P20 lite unter Android 8.0.
In the target folder on my PC I now have a tibx file of about 3 GB. Is there any way to have a look inti inorder to find out what so far has been backed up?

Horst, in your ATI main GUI, you should have a new Mobile Backup entry for your phone backup which should in turn have an option button for 'Browse files' to allow you to see the contents of the .tibx archive. This assumes that Acronis considers the archive to be in a state to allow this.
You can also click on the entry for 'Acronis Drive' in Windows Explorer which should open the same file path. The images below are from ATI 2019 but should be very similar for 2018.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your further explanations.
But following your instructions reveals the same result as just browsing by the windows explorer to the designed folder. There is no way for me to open the TIBX-file. By the "open with"-option of the explorer I return to the TI-Main Window.
I guess that according to what you mentioned "This assumes that Acronis considers the archive to be in a state to allow this." the file is not in the correct state.
I also opened the Acronis drive. In there I only find a folder withe name of my mobile phone. I wonder about the existance of Acronis Drive as I have not optioned for the Acronis Cloud this just being too expensive for using it just a couple of times a year. I have enough local space for my backups.
I had selected another file on another volume to store mobile backups. Can it be that I can see the file's contents only when storing in Acronis Drive?
I appreciate your great assistance.
Yours truly
Horst

Horst, the handling of mobile backup .tibx files is different to that used for .tib files with the Windows Explorer integration that allows opening these.
For the .tibx archives, you need the 2 Acronis Mobile Backup Server services to be running, along with the Acronis Drive process running (acronis_drive.exe) which should then allow you to open the contents of the folder shown with the name of your mobile phone and explore the contents.
