Acronis True Image 2018 Failure
I installed ATI 2018 to replace ATI 2017 which was working ok, what a mistake! Created new backups because my old ones disappeared from the home panel, had to get advise from the chatroom to get the Destination to work. Backing up from my Network NAS Mycloud to MyBook HD attached to My cloud by USB became impossible. after 5 hours to back up a 1.54 GB it froze but worse thing was it caused my Mycloud to become almost inaccessable, trying to open a simple excel spreadsheet would take minutes and cause excel to become unresponsive. Chat session no help whatsoever! Ended up deleteing the parly completed backup uninstalled ATI 2018 and to get MyCloud to work again had to do a 45 secreboot!. System all working fine until I reinstalled ATI 2018 and tried to backup again same problem so uninstalled it again. Reinstalled ATI 2017 and backup is now operating perfectly at a speed of about 1.1MB per sec. Said to the chat guy that I wanted a refund for ATI2018 and he said no.. more than 30 days since I purchased ! Well I have advised him that unless I get a refund I will take it to the Small Claims Tribunal in Australia where I will get a judgement against Acronis for supplying me with a product not fit for the purpose! A fairly basic and long standing consumer protection law which overrides these onerous conditions that companies rely on. See you at the Tribunal Acronis.

Rod, welcome to these User Forums.
Sorry to hear of the problems you are seeing with backing up your NAS device. I do not recall seeing other users reporting this type of problem with ATI 2018, but guess that someone has to be the first to do so, as your testing would seem to prove the point you are making.
Please send a Private Message to Renata Gubaydullina | Product manager, Acronis True Image about this situation and ask that she reviews this forum topic but any Support Case that you have opened with their Customer Service team (quote the case number).

I am Guessing that ATI 2018 is not totally compatible with the latest update of windows 10 as far as network drives are concerned

Rod, I am using ATI 2018 build 10410 (latest) with both Windows 10 1709 Fall Creators Update and also the latest Windows 10 Insiders build for Redmond 4 and both work fine with my Synology NAS. One key difference may be that I am not attempting to backup the NAS but to backup to the NAS.
As a test, I have just created a backup of documents on a WD MyBookLive network drive to my Synology NAS and that is running just fine as I type. The backup is approx 6GB so will take a little time to run given I am running from a laptop over Wi-Fi. Current estimated time is 33 minutes.

Like Steve, I am having no issues with backups (4 different computers) to my Synology NAS with latest public Win 10 build. My Dell notebook does not have an Ethernet port so it has to backup by wifi - still relatively speedy (even with validation).

Thanks Steve and Ian for your help, maybe it has something to do with the compatibility with the WD Mycloud software and backing up from it as opposed to backing up to it. In previous versions I had problems with this which were eventually solved so maybe Acronis and WD software experts will eventually get it right. I the mean time it is unuseable as far as I am concerned.
