Acronis True Image 2018 - impossible to restore backup

Thread needs solution

Hello. I have server Supermicro, i need to clone system from one server to identical another.

1. I made a backup of first server to USB disk

2. On second server, i can't restore my backup:

- when i choose backup file, i can't see server'r RAID massive

- If i make on server's RAID massive empty partitions and try to restore partitions from the backup file to identical partitions to second server, i get the error:

"Faled to wrire data to the disk.

Failed to wrire to sector '0' of hard disk '3.0

direct r/w operation has failed. ( 0x590001)

Operation not permitted (0xFFF1)."

- What's the cause of the problem ?

Alexander, welcome to these public User Forums.

In order to recover your server backup to the second server which has RAID drives, you will need RAID support in the Acronis bootable Rescue Media, and to boot from that media to perform the restore.

The standard Linux based Acronis Rescue media does not have support for RAID arrays, so you would need to create the alternative Windows PE version of the media, and then to inject the Intel RST drivers to give RAID support.

The MVP Custom ATIPE Builder script can create the WinPE media and inject the Intel RST drivers, but this requires access to the Windows ADK files for the PE files, or else be created on a computer running Windows 10 with a good Windows Recovery Environment from which to find the PE files needed.  Link to the tool in my signature or via the MVP User Tools and Tutorials link.

The Rescue Media also will need to be booted using the same BIOS mode as used by your Windows OS on the server (assuming this is a Windows server) plus the RAID array must present as a single drive to the Acronis application for recovery.
