Acronis True Image 2018 Recovery FAILED!
I wanted to share the nightmare I am enduring when attempting to use your software, Acronis True Image 2018.
A few weeks ago, in early December 2017, I attempted to use your software to do a complete laptop restore. I had your tech support access my laptop via remote session. The tech support guy, located in India, initiated the restore ... and, subsequently all hell broke loose! The restore process did not finish properly, and as a DIRECT result my laptop became unbootable.
The ASUS laptop would boot, and show me the ASUS splash screen, but not load the Windows 10 operating system located on my C: Drive.
Since Acronis doesn't have a phone number where someone live could be reached, I was forced to call ASUS tech support for diagnostics. We tried a number of things to see if we could restore the Window's 10 operating system to no avail. The laptop would show the ASUS splash screen, and then go to the BIOS page. We could NOT even use Window's media to re-install the operating system.
The ASUS laptop has 2 physical drives. A SSD where the Windows Operating System and othe software are installed, and a HDD where my data is stored.
I did reach out to Acronis tech suppport via chat, and requested a manager call back. After waiting for hours and not receiving a call, I was forced to take the laptop to Best Buy and drop it off for repairs.
I have requested someone from the corporate office to call me to discuss my issue, for all of the headaches I continue to endure ... no response thus far.

Amit, welcome to these user forums. I have an Asus laptop configured similar to yours. I have a comment, some questions and a recommendation.
Comment: A restore of the system disk should always be accomplished using rescue media. I am surprised that an Acronis support tech would initiate a restore operation remotely. I am hopeful that Renata Gubaydullina | Product manager, Acronis True Image is able to research this.
Questions: How did you create the backup that you were trying to restore? Was it an "Entire PC" backup? Was the backup saved on an external disk? Hopefully, it was not stored on your internal data drive. Did you create Acronis rescue media, either to a USB thumb drive or CD/DVD?
Recommendation: If you created rescue media, you could attempt a recovery using rescue media.

Hello Amit,
I see that your recent support ticket was closed a few days ago. Was the issue resolved? Would you mind sharing some feedback. Thank you!
