Acronis True Image dialog boxes too small /distorted with WinRE on 4K display
When I boot up with my rescue media, the True Image dialog boxes start out very small, and the text is large causing text to get cut off etc. If I resize the dialog box, I can read most of the text, but the menu line at the top of the dialog box is still small and text is cut off. I tested my recovery media to the point just before doing the actual restore, so I appear to be able to use the recovery media, but it is disconcerting that I don't know / can't use the menu at the top of the first dialog box.

Hi Steve -
Thanks for the reply. I followed your advice and built a Custom ATIPE bootable flash drive. I specified a resolution of 3840 x 2160. That's what I run it in normally. BTW, the computer / configuration is:
HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-BL0XX
Windows 10 Home Version 1803
It has an NVIDIA GeForce 940MX, and Intel Graphics 620
Sorry to say that it made no difference. I ran Setres for various resolutions and they all indicated a Windows error (resolution not supported), except for 3840 x 2160. It may be interesting to note that in my Windows 10 display settings, I have the ability to set the display to a lot of resolutions, including those that were failing when I tried with Setres. Note also that in those settings, I can also set the magnification factor. Mine is set for 250% (the recommended setting). One final piece of information, I ran into a similar problem when I purchased a new Canon Pixma printer. Some of the installation software had the same issues with text sizes and window pane / control sizes. The controls would end up too small to hold the text (like menu text, etc.) inside them. The workaround I used was to set the magnification factor (mentioned above in settings) to 100% instead of 250%. This resulted in very tiny dialog boxes. I used the Windows magnification tool to view the dialog boxes and the text was all there and sized appropriately.
Anyway, as I indicated in my initial post, I seem to be able to work my way through the simple/default rescue media well enough to perform a restore. Thanks again for your help. Mark

Mark,
Your problem stems from the Recovery Media not having the correct driver for your Graphics adapter(s). Another user some time ago posted a thread here with the same issue. He too had a computer with switchable graphics capability. I am not sure if the poster ever meet with success.
The thread is quite long but the meat and potatoes begins about midway through the thread. The thread LINK appears below, read as fits you best.
