Acronis True Image New versions

Thread needs solution

Good morning,
I use Acronis True Image only with USB / CD support because I'm not interested in other functions other than Backup & Restore of the operating system.

My question is: what substantial differences, for the use I make of it, among the 2017, 2018, 2019 versions.

Thanks

Augusto

Augusto, the Acronis Rescue Media functionality has not changed greatly across any of the recent product versions in terms of what you can do once in the offline application.

The key changes that have happened are with improved hardware support for newer devices and the move away from using Linux based launch media for the Acronis application.

With ATI 2018 and 2019, Acronis defaults to creating Windows PE boot media where possible, using the Windows Recovery Environment for the PE files needed.  You can still create the older Linux media from the ATI application, and the Linux media remains the version used for the ISO image download from your Acronis Account.

Windows PE rescue media does provide further enhanced support for new hardware & devices plus is more able to be customised to add in new device drivers if needed, whereas the Linux media is not able to be updated or customised other than when Acronis release a new version.
