Active Protection has significant impact on performance

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm an application developer using Eclipse as the IDE. If I do a full clean of a particular project with Active Protection off it takes 1 minute, 45 seconds. If I do it with Active Protection on it takes 2 minutes, 15 seconds, a 28% increase. I have the JVM in the trust list (because Active Protection wouldn't let it run at all otherwise). Is there some other setting I can tweak? I like the idea of Active Protection, but frankly, a 28% performance hit is unacceptable.

Danno, I would suggest that you have 2 options for this issue.

First, see KB 60193: Acronis True Image 2018: Active Protection blocks legitimate applications and try the steps indicated to white-list all applications that are involved in doing the 'full clean' of your projects.

Second, raise a Support Case direct with Acronis and work with their developers to understand why you are seeing the increased performance impact when AAP is active.  This may simply be based on the behaviour being observed by AAP when you are doing your full clean, which may be similar to that of suspected ransomware.
