Active Protection Running in background at high cpu

Thread needs solution

This morning, Active Protection has been running in the background for hours at high cpu. There might have been a questionable click in Facebook as the screen went white, then I got a suspicious Friend request shortly thereafter. It looked suspicious at the time, and now I see the Active Recovery working overtime at 30% CPU. Is it normal for Active Protection to be running this long and at that CPU? I don't want to end the task. Also wondering if Active Protection runs scans and that is why it has been running for hours?

Rick, I would suggest looking at the AAP page in the main ATI GUI and see what is being reported there in terms of any Monitored processes shown?

Next, shutdown your web browser(s) and clear all their cache plus run a full scan of your computer with your installed antivirus software.

Finally, do a restart of Windows to clear out any processes running in memory after checking that there are no obvious signs that any new startup programs have been added.

Thanks, Steve. There did not appear to be any processes being monitored since April. I did what you suggested and all appears to be good. I appreciate your quick response,as always.
