Another year number increase same bull#$#@ software.

Thread needs solution

I don't know why I keep buying this software hoping that it will be better...but it isn't.  I need to initiate a refund.  I was hoping that the 2018 finally solved the backup scheme via windows (since they tauted the live backup or what other marketing bull shit name is being used).  Well No it's not fixed.  The only way I can backup stuff is to boot of a USB and use the Linux enviroment or WIndows PE to backup my system.

I assume you are referring to the length of time being indicated for the backup - 3d 16h which seems way out for a 500gig SSD drive, even if completely full. I am at loss to understand why this is happening, since you have no problems doing the backup with the recovery media.

As you indicate that you had a similar problem with ATI 2017, I am wondering if there is a problem with your operating system; what OS and build number are you running. I have a suspicion that you could have a faulty device driver which is causing the process to grind to a halt. Is drive H attached to a SATA port or to a USB port, and if so is it USB 2, 3 or 3.1?

Dariusz, first, welcome to these User Forums.

Given your statements about this being a long running problem for you, predating ATI 2018 which you now have installed, have you opened any previous forum topics using a different Acronis account?  This looks to be your first forum post on this issue?

Any requests for a refund can only be dealt with by Acronis - we are all just users of the product, the same as you in this respect.

I agree with the comments already offered by Ian above, that this looks to be an issue with your computer if the screen image you posted is an indication of the problem you are seeing?

When you use the ATI Rescue Media to boot the computer, you completely eliminate all installed Windows OS, applications, device drivers etc., so if all works fine in that offline environment, this again supports the conclusion that the problem is directly related to an issue in your Windows OS, probably a device driver or bad USB port etc?

We would be happy to try to work with you to try to get to the cause of the issue but will need much more information in order to do so.

As Ian asked, please provide the basics:  What Windows OS is installed?  What are you backing up, what is your backup device you are writing to, how is that device connected, what type of USB ports if used?  The more information / details, the better we can start to try to understand your problem.
