ATI 2018 - Acronis Active Protection

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Looks like Acronis Active Protection (AAP) is the new 'yet to be tested fully' feature.

With AAP enabled I am unable to use my Ironkey security USB drive as I get a BSOD and, usually, an APC Mismatch error.

On disabling AAP I notice that the Ironkey now works but Chrome fails to open. Interestingly the AAP service, despite being disabled, is taking up 15% of my CPU time and stays there.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Many thanks,

Sean

Sean...At this point, I don't have any advice.  I do request that you report this directly to Acronis.  The BSOD is directly related to issues reported on the following link:

Is AAP competing with your antivirus, or other security software?

Hi,

Acronis must know that AAP will be competing with all sorts of AV\security software. I'm not sure why they thought it a good idea to add a service that most people will already have a dedicated solution for anyway. It can only cause problems.

I want ATI to provide an efficient, reliable, feature rich backup\restore solution and not tread on the toes of security-specific solutions.

I disabled AAP only to see the service consume 15% of my CPU despite being turned off.

Many thanks,

Sean
