ATI 2018: Recovery from NAS - GUI does not accept user/pw

Hi Folks,

I am using ATI 2018 (Build 12510) and I am writing my backups to a LAN attached NAS (Synology). Doing backups works fine.

I created a bootable USB stick and integrated the necessary network drivers.

When booting from USB stick and using the GUI to enter the network path of the stored images I always get an authentication error but I can promise I am using the correct user and pw combination.

I then stopped the GUI, and used the 'net use' command at the console session to establish access to the network path. After restarting the GUI I am able to access the backup that is seen under the drive letter of the network path to my NAS.

So why isn't it possible to get access to the network path by just using the GUI? It shouldn't be necessary to use the 'net use' command via console first!

By the way - I did some testing with ATI 2016. Using this older version it is possible to access the network path withou using the 'net use' command first.

So please correct this misbehavior with the newer version AIT 2018 as son as possible!

Kind regards

Marcus

I suggest you provide feedback outlining the problem and how you managed to circumvent it .Within Acronis click on "help" (bottom left corner) and then select "send feedback". This thread may not be seen by Acronis staff.

Please provide more information on the recovery media being used. It is not the Linux media, so which of the two non-Linux media did you use? I have not tried accessing backups on my Synology NAS using recovery media so I cannot make any other useful suggestions. Some users prefer to copy the relevant *.tib files to a local disk rather than recovering directly from the NAS.
