ATI resets boot drive after restore to back-up SSD
I use ATI 2018 on two systems, both Win10/64. One laptop, one desktop. On both, my ATI routine is to create a back-up of the C: drive, then do a Recovery of that disk to a second SSD. On each PC, that gives me two fully functional copies of the C: drive, which is what I want.
On the desktop PC, both the C: drive and its copy remain installed on the motherboard. On the laptop, the second SSD is in an NVME enclosure connected via USB3.
The PROBLEM I'm having is that after a 'successful' Recovery, the next time I restart the computer, the boot drive has been changed to the Recovery drive in the BIOS. To correct this, after a Recovery, I have to go into the BIOS and manually reset the boot drive to the physical SSD I want to use. This is especially a problem with the desktop since the second SSD is always installed on motherboard; with the laptop, I can disconnect the drive from USB and set it aside.
Am I missing something in terms of settings or my Recovery procedure? I understand that after a Recovery, the drives will be 'identical' -- but I can't see how ATI is attacking the BIOS and forcing changes there. All I want is to designate and lock down a permanent C: drive, that will always be the C: drive, and then make back-up copies of that drive which sit to the side until they may be needed if the main C: drive fails.
If I'm doing something wrong, please tell me. If this is a feature, or a bug?
