Automatic Cleanup over Network Drive
Got a network drive I am using to send my Acronis 2018 backups to and have automatic cleanup enabled.
I have the backup method set to incremental with
Create a full version after every 7 incremental versions
Store no more than 1 recent version chains
Nothing else is selected or checked. yet I have two full backups and 16 incremental backups. My intention is to only have a max of one full backup persistent at a time (I understand that there needs to be room for 2 full backups while a new one is created). Does Acronis delete backups over a persistent network drive?
(Images Attached for reference)
Thanks in advanced for any help!

In older versions of Acronis, if the backup script wAs modified, this would reset the chain count.
For instance you set it to do 7 Inc. but...
After #6, you go in and change the script and save. You now need 7 Inc again, meaning 13 total, as long as you don't mess with the script again.
This behavior was fixed in 2028 and still working well in 2019. As for 2017, run the incrementals back to back until the next full is created and don't mess with script anymore and it should adhere to the cleanup settings then.

So I ran the incrementals back to back until a full was created and there are now 3 full backups and they're not getting removed. Haven't tweaked any settings in Acronis because I don't believe they're wrong. Any other advice?

I am not an expert on how automatic cleanup works. However, I am certain that it works as intended on a NAS (otherwise my NAS would have run out of storage long ago). Also your settings seem to be correct. One possibility (but an unlikely one) is that the cleanup operation has not yet started. I will not start until the second chain is completed.

My bad, I'll make sure to post in the proper place next time. Thanks for the response anyway. Unfortunately, it has not cleaned itself up after waiting. Any other suggestions?

Brian, in the screenshot above (https://forum.acronis.com/sites/default/files/forums/155392/windows.png), where is the full for backup #10?
Is it there, but just cut off in the screenshot, or have there been any manual cut/paste or deletions to the backup in file explorer too?
I would cut my losses on that script (not the backups). Clone the settings and start a new job and keep an eye that it behaves as expected after that. Certainly con't hurt, and may be the easiest way to make sure that something under the hood (in the database) isn't off track. Make sure that any moving of files for the backup takes place in Acronis instead of Windows. If you do manually move or delete files in Windows, then you need to run a validation of the backup and "ignore" all missing files that show up as a warning prompt.

Neither nor on the cut off screenshot or manual deletions or cuts from the folder. That's how it has been for the months listed. I'll try starting a new job and seeing what happens. Thanks for the help.

Hmmm .Yeah, something is wrong then .There are only incrementals for version 10 shown. None of the version 10 incrementals is usable without it. And that may be throwing off the cleanup for 11 and 12 as 10 seems incomplete. I don't see how the full would just go missing though.
