Backing up OneDrive folder

Thread needs solution

I've been backing up my full Documents folder regularly, but have recently started using OneDrive which has files stored locally in my Documents folder. Is it a good practice to include these files in my regular Acronis backup or is there a reason that I should exclude them?

The choice is yours in this situation - obviously your OneDrive files are being synchronised with the OneDrive Cloud storage but in a worse case scenario, then any malware attacking your system could attack those same files and the corrupted / encrypted files could be synchronised to the cloud too, so having a separate backup of the files is another layer of protection if the files are important.  You should also have an offline backup of your important data that is kept disconnected from the computer except for when updating it.

Thanks for your comments. I think I'll go ahead and include the OneDrive stuff. It's not all that large anyway. I'm now backing up locally, and on a HD that I keep in my safe monthly. I even do a yearly backup that goes in a safe deposit box at the bank! Thanks again.
