Backing up .ost files in office 2013

Thread needs solution

Hi folks,

I have an irritating problem in Microsoft Outlook 2013, on windows 7 that every time I do complete backup with ATI, and then later do a restore of that backup, on opening Outlook I get a message that my .OST file is old, only solution is delete that profile in Outlook in control panel, and then add my three email addresses that I use in Outlook again. it does take a little time.

For some reason on other on my windows 10 partition where I have Outlook 2016 I don't have the same problem.

I have found this in the knowledge base,

https://kb.acronis.com/content/48032

Just wondering has anyone else encountered this problem and does the solution work, or any more updated solutions?

Many thanks for any help.

Joe

Yes, I just had this issue. However all I did was delete the .ost file from the from location

C:\Users\banksc2\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook delete the .ost file and then open up outlook again and have it sync from exchange. it will then work just fine, you won't have to setup your emails again.

Thanks, just tried it, seems to work great, would be nice though to get a workaround so that acronis could back it up, as I don't really understand what is causing it.

The registry edit in the kb article you sited does work.
