Backing up specific partitons keeps failing

Thread needs solution

I am having trouble backing up specific disks/partitions (Source is Documents Folder on Partition D, Pictures and Video Folders which are both on parttion I)

A regular backup task which had been working fine for months started to fail so I cloned the task. It worked a few times and then begain to fail.

I then deleted that task completely and all the backup files for that task and created a fresh task.

The first time it ran it created an incremenatal tib file which is clearly wrong as it should start with a full backup. Somehow it was still seeing a connection to the previous task for the same source items.

I then created a new task again which seemed to go well but failed on validation. The email notification included the lines...

Error 0x101f6: Error while checking the metadata integrity of points in time (PITs) in the archive.

error 0x216002d: Error while checking the metadata integrity of points in time (PITs) in the archive.

error 0x70020: The backup is corrupted, but you can still try to recover data from it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time.

B R, the only certain way of resolving this type of strange problem would be to make a full clean start, uninstalling ATI 2018 then using the Acronis Cleanup Tool followed by a restart of Windows before installing ATI again.  You would need to recreate your backup tasks again but you can use the option to 'Add existing backup' then 'Reconfigure' if you want to do so.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for replying.

Hmmm... such a pain to have to do that when all my other tasks (6 of them) are working perfectly.

Will contact tech support first to see what they can offer.

Cheers.
