Hi,

My 2018 True Image creates a full image and 5 increments immediately, then gets a "Backup consolidation failed".

image 931 Thus "no data to recover yet".

But for the rapid fire creation, the files look ok:

But when choosing one of the .tibs, file explorer windows appear continuously asking for "the most recent" and the "xth volume".

Choosing all six .tibs then eventually shows a directory in the file, and choosing one starts the same process:

Thus, backups are unusable and recovery impossible.
Does anyone recognise this problem?
Tips appreciated!
Kind regards, Vincent

Vincent, welcome to these public User Forums.

There looks to be several different issues at work here.

No data to recover is a known issue caused by a loss of linkage between the Recovery panel and the available backup image files, this can be resolved by performing one or both of the following actions:

  • Validate the backup task.

  • Use the option to Add existing backup

The failure of consolidation for the backups can be caused by other issues and I have not heard of the above one causing it.

I would suggest running CHKDSK /F for the backup storage drive as it is more likely that there may be a file system issue with that drive, such as corruption of the free space map of the drive?

When looking at performing Disk Recovery, especially for the OS drive, it is strongly recommended to boot the PC from Acronis rescue media which does not rely on the same features as used by the Windows Acronis GUI panels, so should be able perform a successful recovery.
