Backup failing after moving system
We are doing some work on the house and when I put my wife's system back together I started getting the message
"The last backup has been stopped. It will be restarted at (time) . The backup cannot be started. Plug in the external drive containing the files for this backup."
The drive is connected and I can access it. Acronis can also access existing backups on the device. I ran the verify and there were no errors. Any suggestions?

You should be able to just reselect the Destination for the backup task again to overcome any change.
Edit: I reselected the same drive and was able to start the backup. I would never have thought of that, thanks.
Steve, the drive letter is the same. If I select "open location" from the drop down next to the backup name it opens the folder where the backups are kept. That's what's so confusing. Selecting "validate" from the same menu succeeds as well. I don't think it matters what USB port the external drive is connected to since the ID is stored on the drive itself. Another thing, when I connected the drive to the PC a notice flashed on the screen stating the backup drive was detected. I am not getting email notifications for responses for some reason so I'll keep checking. Thanks.
