Backup file folder on NAS is huge !!

Thread needs solution

Hi, This issue has been brought up earlier but didn't solve my problem. I backup with ATI 2018 to my Synology NAS. It is a incremental BU. Every so much time ATI creates a new full backup. I am starting to run out of space on my NAS. I would want the folder not to exceed 600 GB. Is there a way that I can set the limit to the BU folder or the total of the ATI backups? Thank you very much for your help.

Welcome to these public User Forums.

All versions of ATI provide settings to allow for automatic cleanup of old backup version chains to prevent the destination location from becoming full or run out of space.

What settings do you have on the Backup Scheme settings page for your backup task to the NAS, and in partition, what is shown below the Backup Method area of the page?

My personal preference is to use the option to 'Store no more than X recent version chains' which then deletes the oldest backup chain after the next full backup for a new chain has been created successfully.

A version chain = 1 x full backup plus all configured Incremental or Differential backup files based on that full backup.
