Backup report?

Thread needs solution

I just installed TIH 2018 after having had the last 2 or versions working fine without an issue.

It's great that everything worked but it's created an issue, I don't know how to find the backup report.

My first 2018 backup started flagging sector errors which I eventually told it to ignore planning on going back to the backup report to find out what was happening but I now realize I don't know where in the interface to find a detailed backup report.

I chatted with tech support but they wanted me to look in the "logs" directory on True Image Home but there is no such dir

So where do I find the detailed log of the backup?

I'm on Windows 10 64bit

Tack (Swedish for Thanks),

Kevin

Kevin, welcome to these User Forums.

Please download a copy of the MVP Log Viewer tool which will allow you to read any of the Acronis logs produced when using the application.  The tool can be found via the Community Tools link in my signature or from the Third party tools link in the main GUI > Tools panel.

Thanks much that did the job.

Weird that reporting tool is not built into the interface, last backup software I really got into the guts with was business backup software so I guess consumer backup software doesn't bother with putting a reporting tool in the main product?

That sounds pissy but not the way I meant it, thanks again for the help!

Kevin, unfortunately Acronis saw fit to remove the integrated Log function back around ATI 2014 or 2015 and don't seem inclined to restore it again, hence the MVP community has produced our own standalone log viewer tool.  The only integrated log tool is in the bootable Acronis Rescue Media.

Hello Kevin Newman,

>> I chatted with tech support but they wanted me to look in the "logs" directory on True Image Home but there is no such dir

It is C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs\ti_demon

ProgramData is a hidden folder so you can either insert the path to the Explorer field or unhide hidden folders in Windows.

I have also noted your feedback about bringing the logs back.
