Backup vs Mirror ?

Thread needs solution

Good day, when backing up with Acronis, I noticed mention of Backup and Mirror?  What's the difference?  I basically under stand making an "Image" and "Clone" data,  But not clear about how Backup and Mirror differ?  I mainly just plan to copy everything every 6 months or so for safety in case hard drive ever crashes on to to different external hard drives that sit in a box for emergencies.  Thanks for explanation if it is not to difficult for a simple person to understand.

Matthew, sorry but where are you seeing the mention of 'Mirror'?  I do not remember seeing that term being used in conjunction with any recent Acronis products.

Mirroring is normally associated with RAID technology along with terms such as 'Striping' of data on disks within a RAID array.

Acronis does provide a Synchronisation feature that can mirror selected data to other systems or the Acronis Cloud by keeping the data in sync between those destinations.

See the document linked in my signature for a fuller description of Backup versus Cloning.
