Better Failure Message

Thread needs solution

I've been using Acronis TI for 10+ years, and the failure messages don't seem to ever improve.  For example, when out of disk space, the error message shown is:

Terminated by timeout.

However, looking at the error "log" (emails sent during failure), I get an email warning of low disk space, and another showing "The quotas are violated"

What would be most helpful is warning well-beforehand and disk space is low.  Acronis is running as a service in the background all of the time, and it could monitor disk space.  Even better would be a warning of how much disk space is needed and how much is left.

Tim, have you enabled the notification in your backup task Options for insufficient disk space?

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your reply.  Yes, I have.

I receive the low disk space email ("Information: Target drive is running out of space.") about 10 minutes before the backup runs.  Then, 10 minutes later the backup fails.  The problem here is that my backups run at 2am, when I'm asleep.  I don't see the message until the morning.

I think the intent with this setting is good; however, the check for low disk space should take place AFTER the backup is run, or on regular intervals

Tim

Tim, I can only offer two suggestions on how to go forward with this question.

1.  Submit Feedback to Acronis (or open a Support Case) to propose changes to how this works.

2.  Change the settings to increase the amount of space so that you will be notified when there is not sufficient free space to accommodate a new full backup image rather than using the default free space settings.

Both are very good suggestions.  Thank you!
