Can Acronis backup to another computer that also runs Acronis (and Crashplan)?
I'm having trouble completing a full backup from one Win10 PC to another. The permissions in the shares seem to be good, but its a fairly slow home network. I get messages that it can't write to destination, but it recovers after selecting Try again" until it eventually fails. Can the copy of Acronis or Crashplan running on the destination PC interfere with with the backup running on the source PC? Thank you.

Thanks Steve! That's helpful. After several more attempts to backup to a networked PC, including one that ran for 3 days and then the backup file disappeared, I give up. Will try again from the other direction by initiate the backup from Acronis on the destination PC. Will update.

Bill, if you have several PC's to backup, you may want to consider investing in a NAS solution rather than to another Windows PC across the network. I haven't regretted investing in my own Synology NAS a couple of years back even if it is relatively 'small' by today's standards with 2 x 3TB WD drives in a RAID configuration, but is sufficient for my needs at home.

I agree with Steve about considering getting a NAS. I have had Synology NAS for a few years now; has 4 x 4TB WD Red drive is raid 6 configuration. Still have about 40% free. You can also use it as a media server.

Steven & IanL-s, In retrospect, I should have gone with an NAS rather than baking up four family PC's to mine. But I also want to store all backups online or off site, and the only affordable option for 5TB of data seems to be Crashplan. Last time I checked, they were discontinuing support of NAS and network drive backup.
