Can't change Back up destination

Thread needs solution

True image 2018. 

When I try and change the destination location it just seams to click through and stays selected. 

 

Any ideas?

I am not aware of any known issues in this area for the ATI 2018 product, none that I recall seeing here in these forums, which would suggest that perhaps there is an issue with your software installation.

I would recommend doing a Repair install as a starting point, ensuring that you install using Administrator privileges.

A Repair install simply means reinstalling ATI 2018 over the top of the existing software without uninstalling first - you should be able to download the latest build full installer from your Acronis account to use for installing.

Hello Steve, 

Thank you for your speedy response. I did do a repair install but to no avail. 

However I did resolve the problem even though the 'fix' was not ideal. I unplugged all hard drives other than the one I wished to back up to, it auto selected that as the destination. 

Then plugged everything back in and selected the drive I wished to back up from. Problem solved until next time.

With your hard drives, in particular external drives, it is recommended to give each of these unique drive letters (via the Windows Disk Management console) so that when you plug any drive in, it always will get the same drive letter, and not swap with a letter used by a different drive.

Drive letters changing can cause some odd problems because Acronis records both the drive letter and the unique drive identifier (UUID) in its internal database and looks for the same when you run your backup task again.
