CAN'T DELETE OLD BACKUPS ON TRUE IMAGE 2018

Thread needs solution

Hi,

So I wanted to do a fresh backup and wanted to delete my old backups.

While I can see the old backups on the assigned hard drive, I can't delete them (nor even see how to get to them in the Acronis program.

Anybody know how I can access the backups?

Thanks

David

You can delete them from within ATI 2018. Select the backup task and click the V to the right of the name, one of the options is to delete the back - this will delete the entire backup. My recollection is that the clean-up option is not avaialbe in 2018, being introduced in ATI 2019.

You can partially remove a backup by deleting the *.tib files in explorer; you can delete the incremental files, or a backup set (full backup + associated incremental backups) usign explorer. It is important not to leave orphan incremental files. Before deleting the files you will need to temporarily suspend auto-protection. Once the files are deleted turn auto-protection back on and then validate the backup - it will produce pop-up about missing files, click ignore. Once validation is complete do it again to make sure no missing files are identified.
