Can't select recovery image

Thread needs solution

I have one drive backed up. The other drive d and e are partitions on a 2nd drive.

I backed each up individually.

Now I want to restore the imaes to all three drives.

I recovered drive E with no problem. When I try and select the image for drive d I get the E drive image.

When I select add and image for the center section it allows me to select the image for drive d but when I select add it never shows up

My head hurts from smacking it on the desk.

I have followed the instructions on how to restore an image but I can't get it to select the image.

Melvin, welcome to these User Forums.

How are you attempting to do these partition recoveries?
If you are doing this from within Windows, then I would recommend making the Acronis Rescue Media and using that for the restore.

Using the bootable rescue media is safer than doing this from within Windows but you need to be careful that you select the correct target partition for the recovery.  It is a good idea to name each partition clearly, i.e. Data-D or Music-E where you can see immediately what is what even if the drive letters shown in ATI are different to what you expect (as can often be the case).

Well that didn't work

Rebooted to the rescue drive. Acronis came up said preparing for 3 minutes and the computer rebooted to windows.

Still can't select any of the other images I saved.  I've used acronis for quite awhile and this is the most un-user friendly version yet.  On the older version you save an image and reload an image.  I've been trying to reimage the disc and two partitions for two days now with no success. That only leave me with starting from scratch which is why I paid for this program.

All I want to do is use the d drive and c drive image on my external drive and the program won't even let me select them.

Melvin, when you say you rebooted to the rescue drive then the computer rebooted to windows, what exactly did you do here?

Have you created the standalone rescue media and tried to boot from this, and if so, when you booted that media did you do so in the same mode as used by your Windows OS, i.e. if Windows uses UEFI to boot, selecting the UEFI option for the device where your rescue media is loaded (UEFI CD/DVD drive or UEFI USB stick)?

Sorry if I sound frustrated, I am.

I booted to the recovery disc. The computer started up and a window opend for acronis that had a bar and said "preparing".

Nothing happened and about three minutes later the computer screen went blank and the computer rebooted to windows. When I logged in there wan't any window open for acronis.

I uninstalled acronis and reinstalled it.  It let me select the correct recovery file to write to my d drive but I got an errot that said "can't find version 2". When I canceled I was right back where i started with Acronis only allowing me to select backups of the e drive.

Thanks

Melvin, sorry that you are frustrated by this issue when trying to recover your data - I may need to cause a little more of the same here with the questions below:

Can you confirm what version / build of ATI that you are using here - this is the ATI 2018 Forum but is this what you are using here or do you have a different version?

What version of Windows OS is involved here?  Most users are using Windows 10 but is that true for you?  Are you using a 32-bit or 64-bit computer here?

Did you create the 'recovery disc' yourself or is this the CD that was supplied with the software?

The above questions are important because we need to get you to the offline Acronis recovery environment and at the moment it doesn't sound like we are able to do that if your computer is restarting into Windows after a few minutes.
