Clean up backups

Thread needs solution

Hi -

I want to manually clean backups up, not have them automatic, what is the best way to do this? I see lots of tools but nothing for disk clean up.

System-clean up does not have it, nor Acronis Drive Cleanser..

I'm sure there is some utility to do this right?

See I don't want the automatic feature, as that it will extend the times for the backups as that it will need to and analysis of the backups and do its work.

Where as I would like to do this manually when the system is not busy.

I have other systems at home that backup to this system on a schedule, and then use Acronis to backup the backups, and when the automatic is setup it causes backups to take much longer.

Thanks

Tom, welcome to these User Forums.

There is a new Clean up versions option in ATI 2019 if you are prepared to upgrade, otherwise the recommendation is to use the Automatic Cleanup rules for your backup task - this is a lot quicker and easier to manage than deleting backup files outside of ATI using Windows Explorer then needing to Validate your backup tasks to stop being given pop-up error messages when your task runs.
